Risk Specialist - 6 Months Contract - London/Hybrid

As a Risk Specialist, you'll play a crucial role within the Banking and Markets business, reporting to the Capital Markets Head of Risk and Change Management. You'll identify, measure, and escalate key risks, working closely with business unit stakeholders to develop frameworks and enhanced standards. Your contributions will help mitigate inherent risks, ensuring the continued success of our client's operations.

Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm schedule, with occasional out-of-hours work

Responsibilities:

Coordinate and facilitate monthly forums to foster open discussions on inherent risks and control measures.
Identify areas of highest risk, highlighting key controls and control gaps to senior stakeholders.
Support the development of frameworks, enhanced standards, and procedural documentation to strengthen risk mitigation.
Lead forums to review and document changes to Capital Markets product offerings.
Serve as a trusted advisor on risk-related issues and foster open dialogue with business partners.
Act as a liaison between the business unit and second line risk and compliance functions.
Represent Risk on Steering Committees and/or Working Groups.

Skills and Background:

Financial services experience with a strong understanding of operational risk, controls, or audit.
Excellent knowledge of audit, risk, and operational management concepts.
Familiarity with Capital Markets or related business areas.
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organisation, attention to detail, and time management abilities.
Inquisitive and enthusiastic approach to problem-solving.
Ability to make independent decisions while being a collaborative team player.
Leadership and organisational skills to direct activities across multiple business units.
