We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team at a well-established care home in the beautiful Scottish Islands. If you're looking for a rewarding role in a supportive environment, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and organise menus, ensuring meals are served on time and to a high standard.
- Ensure the kitchen is kept clean and hygienic, following food safety regulations at all times.
- Work closely with care home staff to provide meals that meet the specific needs of elderly residents, including those with special dietary requirements.
- Assist with ordering and stock control to maintain an efficient kitchen.
**Key Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years' experience working as a chef (Required chef experience who worked in a care home, hospitals or similar healthcare setting; however, experience in a restaurant setting will also be considered).
- A caring, empathetic nature with a genuine interest in providing excellent food and care for vulnerable individuals.
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- A valid driving license is required to access the care home, as it is located in a remote area of the Scottish Islands.
