We have a new opportunity for a Head of Logistics to join our team within Vistry Works division, covering our 3 sites in Warrington, Bardon and Leicester. As our Head of Logistics you will be responsible for overseeing and optimising logistics operations across the 3 sites to ensure efficient and cost- effective operations. Managing the team to ensure the efficient receipt, storage and movement of materials for production and also the control of finished goods inventory and transportation to end Customer. This role will play a pivotal role in developing and executing logistics strategies to drive operational excellence, minimise costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.

  • Proven experience in a senior logistics role, preferably within the construction or housebuilding industry

  • You will ideally have experience working with Microsoft Dynamics 365

  • Extensive experience in managing logistics operations, including supply chain management, transportation, and warehousing

  • Knowledge of the latest warehousing and distribution best practices and emerging concepts and solutions from across the logistics industry

  • Willingness to travel as required to various sites and locations

  • Ability to develop and implement effective logistics strategies and processes

  • Proven track record of optimising logistics operations to improve efficiency and reduce costs

  • Develop and execute comprehensive logistics strategies aligned with organisational goals and objectives.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, cost reduction, and operational efficiency across the logistics function

  • Lead, mentor, and develop the logistics team (operating across 2 sites), including logistics managers, despatch coordinators, logistic supervisors and site operatives

  • Provide guidance, coaching, and training to enhance team performance and capabilities.

  • Foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement across the logistics team

  • Develop strategic relationships with hauliers to ensure quality, service and cost-effective operations

  • Develop and implement policies, procedures, and systems to streamline logistics processes and maximise operational performance.

  • Develop and manage logistics budgets, forecasts, and cost models to ensure cost-effective & value for money operations.

  • Evaluate and implement logistics technologies and solutions to improve efficiency, visibility, and decision-making within the logistics function.

  • Stay abreast of emerging trends, best practices, and innovations in logistics and supply chain management.

  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, laws, and industry standards governing logistics and supply chain operations.

  • Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies to address potential disruptions, such as natural disasters, geopolitical events, or supplier issues.
