Day to Day of the role:

  • Manage, recruit, and develop a team of Account Managers, Wine Development Managers, and a Brand Activation Manager.
  • Deliver the agreed sales and margin budget.
  • Achieve new business, wine, and signature brand targets, as well as retain existing customers and increase their spend.
  • Improve the efficiency of Account Managers by setting clear targets and minimising attrition.
  • Lead monthly sales meetings and support Account Managers in building and enhancing relationships with significant customers.
  • Conduct annual appraisals and regular reviews with direct reports, including days out in the trade.
  • Collaborate with key stakeholders such as Depot Managers, Operational Teams, Regional Managers, and the Support Centre team to achieve company targets.
  • Stay informed on industry and retail trends and communicate these insights effectively.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Excellent leadership and coaching skills.
  • Commercial experience, preferably in the on-trade sector.
  • A strong track record in sales and meeting growth targets.
  • In-depth knowledge of the trade and current trends.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Proven track record of managing a successful sales team.

Desirable Skills:

  • Good knowledge across all drinks categories.
  • Some experience and understanding of hospitality retail.
