Accounts Payable Supervisor

Here at Every Step Recruitment, Finance & Accountancy, we are supporting our Client with their requirement for a Accounts Payable Supervisor. Please note, this is a full-time, permanent opportunity and office-working is required Monday to Friday. (one day hybrid)
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the Accounts Payable Manager
- Training, guiding and mentoring the Accounts Payable Clerks as required
- Matching and coding high-volume purchase order invoices
- Dealing with supplier queries via email, telephone and letter
- Processing VAT returns
- Payment runs, processing CHAPS and BACS payments
- Allocating payments
- System maintenance: ensuring all records are kept up-to-date
- Bank reconciliations
- Ensuring all invoices are processed accurately and efficiently
- Improving and documenting processes and procedures
- Updating the cashflow forecast on a daily basis
You will have the following skills and attributes:
- At least 2 years' recent experience working within a Senior/Supervisor Accounts Payable role
- A proven ability to train, guide and mentor more junior team members
- Excellent attention to detail and levels of accuracy
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Strong communication skills - both written and verbal
- A willingness to work from the Watford office Monday to Friday
