Salary: c£45,000 PA

Job Type: Full - Time, 12-Month Fixed Term Contract

About The Company:

Our client, a renowned university, is seeking a talented Oracle Developer to support their IT team in transforming their systems to a cloud-based solution, optimising database systems, and ensuring efficient data management.

Oracle Developer – The Role:

The Oracle Developer will play a pivotal role in developing, implementing, and maintaining Oracle databases as the university transitions to a cloud-based infrastructure. The successful candidate will collaborate with the IT team to design, build, and support database solutions that enhance the university's operations.

Oracle Developer – Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement cloud-based database solutions to support various university functions
  • Design, code, and maintain Oracle database systems ensuring optimal performance and reliability
  • Perform database tuning, backup, recovery, and security management
  • Develop and maintain PSQL/SQL queries and scripts
  • Create and manage APEX applications
  • Design and develop APIs to integrate with other systems
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand requirements and provide effective database solutions
  • Troubleshoot and resolve database issues in a timely manner
  • Maintain documentation of database configurations, processes, and procedures

Oracle Developer – You:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience in Oracle database development and administration
  • Strong knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and Oracle database tools
  • Proficiency in APEX development
  • Experience in API development and integration
  • Familiarity with cloud-based database solutions and migration processes
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex database issues
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment
  • Experience in an educational or similar sector is a plus
