A leading accountancy practice in Wirral is seeking an ambitious External Audit Semi-Senior to join their growing audit team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a part-qualified accountant looking to further their experience in external audit while progressing towards full qualification. You will work with a variety of clients across sectors, gaining valuable experience in a supportive and dynamic environment.
The Role:
As an External Audit Semi-Senior, you will assist with planning and executing audits for a broad portfolio of clients. You will work closely with senior auditors and gain exposure to all stages of the audit process, helping deliver high-quality services to clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in the planning and execution of external audits, including fieldwork and audit testing.
- Preparing audit working papers and supporting documentation in line with regulatory requirements.
- Identifying areas of risk within the audit process and providing recommendations.
- Liaising with clients to resolve queries and obtain audit evidence.
- Supporting the audit team in preparing financial statements in accordance with UK GAAP and IFRS.
- Assisting in the preparation of detailed audit reports and presenting findings to senior auditors and clients.
- Working with senior auditors to ensure audit projects are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Maintaining up-to-date knowledge of auditing standards and regulatory requirements.
Requirements:
- Part-qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) with a commitment to completing professional qualifications.
- 1-2 years of experience in external audit, ideally within a practice environment.
- Knowledge of UK auditing standards and accounting principles.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build effective client relationships.
- Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with audit software and accounting packages such as Xero, Sage, or similar.
