About the Role:

As a Library Manager, you will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of several library branches. From managing staff to overseeing building maintenance and events, your role is integral to ensuring the smooth running of the libraries. You'll provide hands-on leadership, driving excellent customer service, ensuring the presentation of stock, and fostering partnerships within the community.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Leading and managing a team, ensuring staff are well-trained and equipped to deliver top-tier service
  • Supervising the daily operations, including the security of library assets and handling financial processes
  • Overseeing the delivery of library events and participating in wider authority projects
  • Ensuring compliance with all management policies, guidelines, and financial procedures
  • Managing partnerships with internal departments and external agencies to enhance service offerings
  • Acting as a keyholder for designated libraries, with responsibility for the security and maintenance of the premises

  • Strong experience in a customer-focused role
  • Proven track record in supervising, training, and developing a team
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in using office-based software applications like Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to manage multiple responsibilities, including financial oversight and resource management
  • Strong initiative with the ability to work independently, making informed decisions in real-time
  • Experience handling cash and financial records accurately
