FP&A Manager - Hybrid - Insurance Sector (6-Month Contract)
About the Role & Company
Join a pioneering, award-winning international insurance underwriting group as our FP&A Manager on an initial 6-month contract.
This is a relatively newly formed company which provides specialised (re)insurance products internationally, including having a syndicate at Lloyds, and they are set for continued rapid growth.
This role will suit someone with comprehensive understanding of the insurance sector, and a solid background in FP&A or Business Partnering who would enjoy a hybrid working arrangement.
The Role Responsibilities
As the FP&A Manager, you will be driving our financial planning and analysis activities. This interim role is crucial for our ongoing success and offers a dynamic and impactful experience. Key responsibilities include:
- Facilitate budget and forecast meetings with business lines and cost centre heads
- Develop investment models for trading teams and long-term strategic planning
- Produce business cases for new investments and strategic initiatives
- Spearhead the preparation and delivery of Board and EXCO reports
- Generate detailed variance analyses for comprehensive group reporting
- Co-ordinate P&L and business review sessions with Managing Directors
- Oversee the entire FP&A month-end closing process
- Create and maintain KPI dashboards and analytics for management
- Utilise BI tools to provide actionable business performance insights
- Evaluate and improve current financial processes and procedures
- Coordinate with the financial accounting team on accruals and prepayments
- Act as the primary finance contact for all risk-related issues
- Support the rollout of new finance reporting tools
- Identify and address areas of cost inefficiency
Criteria for Selection
We are seeking a highly capable and motivated professional with the following attributes:
- You must be a Qualified Accounting (ACCA, CIMA, ACA, CPA) with over 5 years of post-qualification experience
- Must have a minimum of 2 years recently working in the insurance sector
- Must have solid experience in FP&A, budgeting, and financial reporting
- Advanced Excel skills for modelling & analytics
- Proficient in MS PowerPoint
- Strong communication, influencing and persuasive skills
- Excellent presentation capabilities
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently
