The support manager will provide vision, strategy and support our passion to support young people to support themselves.

You will play a key role in developing the skills of our staff by actively supporting teams to develop their skills alongside their continuous professional development.

Our client has two roles available

  • £14.50 per hour, completing shifts (this will include an average of 10 sleep shifts per month with rate of £72.08 per sleep)
  • 40 hours per week with no sleep shifts which may included earlies and weekends

Requirements:

  • Have a good underpinning knowledge of safeguarding
  • Have experience working within a regulated setting such as Ofsted
  • You must have worked with children and young people for minimum of 2 years.
  • Must have the level 3 or 4 QCF/NVQ working with children and young people in residential or equivalent occupational competency
  • Flexibility is key as we operate 24/7, 7days a week, 365 days a year.
  • Have a proven track record of meeting deadlines.
  • Be able to demonstrate good problem-solving skills, using initiative and be able to adapt and work under pressure.
  • Able to demonstrate good managerial and delegation skills in order to empower and motivate colleagues.
  • Have a proven track record of being able to meet positive outcomes for children and young people
  • Have experience of completing supervisions and managing a staff team
  • Have experience in completing fact finding investigation meetings in line with the disciplinary procedures

The Role

As a Support Manager your key tasks will be:

  • Working with the Registered Service Manager and Senior Management to ensure a professional and flexible service is provided.
  • To act as a role model for staff, so that they are encouraged to understand the young people you are supporting.
  • To participate, create and implement individual support plans and activities within a challenging environment.
  • To lead and develop the team working towards strategic aims in line with organisational objectives.
  • To manage and design rotas for your team and ensuring all shifts.
  • To be committed to delivering person centred outcomes for the young people we support, ensuring that the young people are at the centre of their support and enable them to develop independent living skills and receive a good quality of life.
  • To ensure that regulatory standards set out by Ofsted are met and these are of excellent quality.
  • To creatively identify and support young people with activities and / or voluntary options that may be beneficial and stimulating to their development and future.
