Our client is a leading and highly successful Wholesale, Importing and Manufacturing company supplying retailers across the UK. Due to ample growth and a surge in business, our client is recruiting for an experienced Financial Controller to assist in pushing the business forward during this exciting period.
Candidates applying should be ACCA/CIMA qualified and have a minimum of 5 years' experience working as a Financial Controller.
This position is offering an excellent salary package, generous holidays and parking amongst other benefits. This position is office based with the possibility of working 1 day a week from home. Working hours Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
Duties will include.
- Managing a small team and liaising closely with other group entities
- Oversee, manage, and develop the accounting function of the business
- Overseeing all accounting transactions between different entities
- Preparation of annual financial accounts
- Preparation of monthly management accounts, commentary on large variances
- Handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings
- Manage balance sheets and profit and loss statements
- Prepare budget forecasts
- Regular liaison with banks
- Finalising corporation tax computations with external accountants prior to submission to HM Revenue & Customs
- Audit financial transactions and documents
- Liaising with external auditors and company's accountants
- Reinforce financial data confidentiality and conduct database backups where required
Key skills:
- ACCA/CIMA qualified however candidates qualified by experience will be considered
- Strong knowledge of accounting regulations and procedures
- 5 years or more experience working as a Financial Controller ideally within a trading/import/shipping/consumer goods industry
- Advanced IT skills in particular Excel
- Understanding of Foreign Exchange
