Join a Leading Manufacturing Business as a Product Development Engineer
Are you an experienced Product Development Engineer with a passion for innovation and design? This is an excellent opportunity for you to join a leading manufacturing business in Dudley, West Midlands. As a Product Development Engineer, you will be responsible for developing design concepts for new products, reviewing existing products and recommending improvements, and participating in cross-functional product development teams.
This role would suit someone who has product development and design experience with fittings, bearings or fasteners.
You must be competent in creating 2D drawings and 3D models, experience with AutoCAD Inventor would be preferred but SolidWorks experience would also be accepted.
Previous manufacturing experience would be advantageous but is not essential, knowledge/experience with Brasses, Copper & Stainless Steel would also be advantageous, but again, is not essential.
What You Will Do
- Develop design concepts for new products in accordance with specified project briefs
- Review existing and new products and recommend improvement and cost-saving opportunities
- Participate in development and project team meetings as necessary
- Liaise with marketing and other departments, manufacturing sites, and functions to determine suitable solutions
- Be involved with the manufacture and testing of prototype products to develop new product concepts with hands-on role
- Provide answers to technical questions from all aspects of the business including internal and external sales enquires
What You Will Bring
- Previous experience within a similar role
- Product development and design experience with fittings, bearings or fasteners
- Experience and competence with CAD technology, preferably with Inventor
- HNC or Equivalent Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience using an Ansys system
This company is looking for a highly skilled Product Development Engineer who can bring their expertise to the team. In return for your experience, this company will offer you a full-time permanent contract, 37 hours per week (flexible start and finish time Monday to Friday), annual salary up to £37,000 per annum dependant on experience, 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, company sick pay, wellbeing programme, life assurance, and contribution pension scheme.
