Safeguarding Coordinator

We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Safeguarding Coordinator (12 Month FTC) to join our team at Together Housing. As the Safeguarding Coordinator (12 Month FTC), you will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the safeguarding of children, vulnerable adults, and other at-risk individuals within our organisation. Your role will involve developing and implementing safeguarding policies and procedures, providing guidance and support to staff members, liaising with external agencies, and conducting safeguarding training.

As a Safeguarding Coordinator (12 Month FTC), you will play a crucial role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for all individuals within our organisation. You will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure compliance with safeguarding regulations and promote the welfare and protection of all individuals.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities of the Safeguarding Coordinator (12 Month FTC) include:

  • Along with the safeguarding manager, lead on the operational implementation of the Association's safeguarding and domestic abuse policies/procedures to ensure safeguarding is effectively embedded, including coordinating responses by advising, guiding and coaching managers and staff;
  • Ensure continuous development and review of safeguarding and domestic abuse policies/procedures and practice, in line with statutory requirements and sector best practice
  • Deliver safeguarding training programme, including induction, reflective learning sessions and awareness sessions.
  • Providing advice and guidance to staff members on safeguarding matters
  • Ensuring compliance with safeguarding regulations, legislation, and best practices
  • Conducting risk assessments and coordinating investigations of safeguarding concerns
  • Liaising with external agencies, such as social services and police
  • Monitoring and reviewing safeguarding procedures to identify areas of improvement
  • Keeping up-to-date with changes in safeguarding legislation and policies
  • Contributing to the development and improvement of safeguarding strategies and initiatives
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential records of safeguarding cases and interventions

Requirements for the Safeguarding Coordinator (12 Month FTC) role:

  • Previous experience working in a safeguarding role, preferably within a housing or social care setting
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, policies, and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • Experience coordinating and delivering safeguarding training
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Proficient IT skills, including experience working with safeguarding databases and reporting systems
  • Valid driving license and access to a vehicle

  • Starting salary: £33,115
  • Hybrid working
  • As part of your role, you will be expected to travel to our various offices to conduct training sessions. Your work schedule will consist of approximately two days per week working in one of our offices, with the remaining days spent working remotely from home.
