Hays Recruitment are proud to be supporting a Winsford-based mainstream secondary school as they are looking to recruit a motivated and reliable teaching assistant for a full-time contract that will last until the end of the academic year. This is a long-term position that may lead to a permanent contract for the right individual.
Your new role
In your new role as a teaching assistant within the school, you will be supporting students across all year groups (years 7 - 11) on a 1:1 and small group basis. You will build strong constructive relationships with your pupils by speaking to them at their level, actively encouraging them to partake in learning material and by promoting an inclusive and accessible learning environment for all pupils. You will offer intervention and booster sessions in core subjects and offer additional support to pupils with SEN as required (ADHD, ADD and dyslexia). Towards the end of the academic year, you will offer intense interventions and GCSE preparation to the year 11 students.
What you'll need to succeed
To be considered in your application, you must have full "Right to Work" in the UK as well as recent referenceable experience working with children aged between 8 - 16 in the last 2 years, as well as:
- Extensive experience delivering intervention and booster sessions
- Have experience managing behaviours within a classroom or similar environment
- An NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification is advantageous but not essential
