Finance Manager

Robert Half are pleased to partner with a large FMCG business in Kings Lynn looking to add their next Finance Manager into an established team. The successful applicant will work with the Group Head of Finance and Finance Director to enhance the financial position of the business whilst supporting the team through day to day management. This is a hybrid opportunity with flexible working.

Role Responsibilities

  • Maintain robust control systems and structure in line with groups financial control framework. Continuously improve financial controls and processes, streamlining processes across sites to reduce improved efficiency in routine and ad hoc activities.
  • Manage a team of 4 account assistants based in the UK and in Europe. Setting SMART objectives, manage performance and makes sure there is a shared accountability to achieve within the team. Creates a learning environment and enables personal growth for people within the team.
  • Identify and undertake any projects which will improve the Finance department or contribute to wider EU / Global initiatives
  • Accounts payable / Accounts receivable
  • Accountable for prompt payment to suppliers and related controls.
  • Accountable for prompt receipt of income from customers and related controls. Credit card admin. Intercompany balances. Expenses processing and controls.
  • Payment approvals and controls. Daily Bank reconciliations. VAT checking and submitting returns.
  • Fixed Asset administration. FCFQ submission for related controls. Stock rec support.
  • Statutory reporting and Year end packs. Period End balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Support internal and external audits in UK and EU, ensuring files requested are provided in a timely manner and reviewed for completion
  • Ensure financial control checks are carried out accurately on payment runs before authorising. Analyse, recommend and implement changes to the ERP and financial system to further support the requirements of the finance department
  • Identify and implement process improvements within the finance department to improve efficiency, demonstrate controls and provide cost savings.

Role Requirements

  • CIMA / ACCA (or equivalent) qualified finance professional.
  • Good working knowledge of AP & AR and financial controls. Highly competent in using Excel and other Microsoft packages. 5 years of working experience.
  • To maintain effective, co-operative working relationships with all internal and external customers, providing advice and solutions where practical and possible
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent analytical skills, being able to derive information and gather insights from data easily Use of BI to provide insight to financial data
  • Strong people management skills. The ability to inspire, engage and develop a team.
  • Result driven mindset. Finds effective and structured way of delivering results.
  • Experience working in Agriculture business desirable but not essential
