An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Legal Counsel to join a global tax and tech consultancy on a 12-month maternity cover.

The company are US-headquartered with a legal team of 3 in London, which supports the business across the UK and Europe. The firm is now 3,500 employees globally and has achieved success and recognition via growth through acquisitions. The firm has also been acknowledged for its commitment to mental wellness, diversity, and community involvement

Role Overview:

The successful Legal Counsel will be responsible for managing corporate legal matters, including contract negotiation, compliance, corporate governance, and data protection, as well as supporting business transactions in Europe, Asia/Pacific, and India. The company's focus of their UK business is investment in tax technology, as such, fin tech experience would be beneficial.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Negotiating client and vendor agreements.
  • Collaborating with local leadership.
  • Supporting due diligence and acquisition integration.
  • Ensuring GDPR and data protection compliance.
  • Preparing business contracts and forms.
  • Managing corporate governance and legal.

About you:

  • 3+ PQE in an in-house legal department.
  • Experience in contract negotiation.
  • Strong knowledge of contract and commercial law.
  • The acquisitive nature of the business means this role would suit a Counsel with M&A experience.
  • Excellent relationship-building skills, as you'll be dealing with lots of different stakeholders internally at different levels.

The salary on offer for this role is £90,000 - £105,000, dependent on experience.
