A special school in North Yorkshire is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to join their team. The school caters for children and young people aged 4 to 16 years with Autism, Learning Disabilities, Downs Syndrome and Complex Medical Needs.
They are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join them to support with a new class they have opening next academic year to welcome a some new students. This role is for a September start and will be a full time, long term placement (Monday to Friday).
As a Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- To support the pupils with their needs and requirements in accordance to their care plan.
- To work alongside the class Teacher with the day-to-day routine of the class.
- To help run exciting lessons and stimulating activities which help to enhance the students learning and sensory skills.
- To build strong rapport with the pupils and support with behaviour management when required.
- To be flexible to support in any class and work with all age groups in school.
