The Statutory Assessment and Monitoring Service (SAMS) are responsible for the assessment, maintenance and review of Education Health and Care Plans.
About the role:
- Daily tasks encompass the line management of a number of SAM Officers alongside oversight of a defined case load, ensuring that children and young people with EHCPs have appropriate support, resources and placements to remove barriers created by SEN and Disabilities.
- In doing so, you will take responsibility for conducting annual reviews, analysing professional reports, processing paperwork and decision making in line with statutory timescales.
- This role requires the ability to troubleshoot and work closely with multiagency partners to find solutions for children in difficult scenarios.
- This role will also support and train education settings in delivering appropriate education provision and ensure that the Local Authority's statutory functions are delivered effectively.
About you:

- be confident in ICT.
A high level of knowledge and understanding of relevant legislation is required, including the SEN Code of Practice and Regulations, Children and Families Act and the Education Act as well as knowledge and experience of working with relevant case law.
