A leading engineering business is seeking a highly capable and commercially focused individual to join as Finance & HR Manager.

The role will oversee a team of 2 in Finance and 1 in HR, providing direction and having oversight of the team on a day-to-day basis, whilst being the main point of contact for the business regarding any issues and queries around Finance. As such the role is weighted more to Finance (80%) compared to HR (20%).

This role will require the individual to be a Finance Business Partner to the organisation, involved in complex business-wide projects to provide financial data, insights, and direction, whilst ensuring financial controls are robust and complied with.

Reporting to the Head of Finance, this role will work closely with the with the Financial Business Partner for Europe to drive alignment of processes and manage priorities across all 3 entities in Europe.

Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of monthly financial statements. Report on variances to plan and other scenarios and identify risks and opportunities.
  • Preparing and reporting on financial performance to key business stakeholders.
  • Preparation of forecasts and supporting budgeting activities.
  • Cashflow management.
  • Preparation of year-end accounts and liaising with auditors.
  • HMRC & other tax reporting.
  • Ensuring accuracy and efficiency of transactional processes and controls.
  • Daily, Weekly and Monthly KPI reporting.

The individual will bridge the gap between the Head of Finance and the team/business to free them up to focus on strategic issues.

From a HR perspective this individual will support the HR Advisor – who will lead on operational issues for the business – but will ensure that HR compliance, payroll and legislative requirements are all accurate and meet business needs.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

  • Proven experience as a Team Leader/Manager.
  • Strong financial acumen.
  • Knowledge of business process and functions (Finance and HR).
  • Problem-solving aptitude.
  • Solutions based approach.
  • Language skills (ideally but not essential).
