Trainee Fleet Underwriter

Weare on the lookout for a new Trainee Fleet Underwriter to join our growing team in Cardiff. This is an exciting time to join our growing business and the successful candidate can expect fantastic career progression, training & development within the role and Insurance Industry in general. Relevant experience is desirable but not essential and the ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in a career within the insurance sector.

Responsibilities:

  • Underwriting of Taxi Fleet and Truck Fleet policies including accurate quoting and full transparency of new business and renewal premiums in accordance with Company procedures and authority limits.
  • Relationship building and negotiating with existing and new Brokers.
  • Compliance with FCA regulation and Company Training & Competence Plan
  • You will be conducting general administration business support as and when required.

Experience:

  • You will have excellent communication skills both verbal and written coupled with an excellent telephone manner and interpersonal skills.
  • You will have a flexible, adaptable, and pro-active approach to tasks with the ability to learn quickly,
  • You will be adept at problem-solving in a stressful environment.
  • You will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload in line with changing priorities,
  • You will be a great collaborator, with the willingness to support others.
  • You will be competent in using MS packages such as MS Excel, MS Word and Outlook
  • Insurance experience is an advantage, but not essential, as full training will be provided.
