My client are seeking an Electrician's Mate to assist our electrical teams with rewires in domestic properties in the Kirklees area. This role involves installing cables, sockets, switch boxes, and more. PPE and power tools will be provided as necessary.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Assist Electricians with electrical installations, focusing on rewires while prioritising Health and Safety.
  • Support electrical operatives in the installation and maintenance of electrical installations throughout Kirklees.
  • Collect materials from stores and local suppliers as required.
  • Remove waste from site and dispose of it correctly following environmental and council procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy depot environment.
  • Undergo training as required to learn new methods of working.
  • Maintain good working relationships with tenants, the public, and council officers.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A working knowledge of the Building and Electrical Industry.
  • Basic numerical and literacy skills.
  • An awareness of the 19th Edition of the IEE Wiring Regulations is desirable.
  • Must have a basic understanding of Health and Safety within the construction industry.
  • Awareness of customer care issues, especially when working with the elderly and infirm.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Competency in completing all paperwork accurately for audit and charging purposes.
  • Full and valid driving licence is essential as travel is a significant part of the job.
  • Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
  • Must be physically capable of demanding work including bending, lifting, climbing ladders/scaffolding, and working in confined spaces.
  • Willingness to work outside normal office hours if required (emergency call-outs, etc.).
