Due to recent and on-going expansion, our client based northwest of Cambridge is seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Finance Assistant to support the CFO and Management Accountant in the smooth running of a busy department.
As a Finance Assistant you will be focusing primarily on transactional finance tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, credit control, and bank reconciliations. However, this role would be ideal for someone who is keen to expand their skillset and become more involved in more technical aspects of finance, such as analytical reporting.
Duties & Responsibilities of the Finance Assistant:
- Manage the Accounts Payable process. Processing invoices, preparation of payment runs.
- Credit control: assisting with maintaining cash compilation, allocation and reconciliation.
- Daily bank account and credit card reconciliation.
- Analytical reporting on a developing suite of financial and non-financial information
- Assist with the preparation of the Group Annual Report
- Assistance with any other ad hoc duties appropriate to the role
Requirements for the Finance Assistant:
- Previous accountancy / finance experience working within a small team
- Part-qualified UK Financial Accounting Qualification
- Confident IT skills, particularly with a solid understanding of MS Excel
- Keen to develop, progress and learn new skills
