As we expand our operations, we are seeking a dedicated Finance and Accounts Assistant to join our team.

Role Overview:

We are looking for a skilled Finance and Accounts Assistant to join our finance team. This essential role involves managing accounts payable and receivable, conducting bank reconciliations, overseeing VAT submissions, handling payroll, monitoring expenses, and carrying out some administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of finance and accounting principles, exceptional organisational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage and process invoices, payments, and receipts, ensuring accurate and timely transactions.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure financial accuracy and resolve discrepancies.
  • VAT Management: Prepare and submit VAT returns in compliance with regulatory requirements, maintaining accurate records for audits.
  • Expense Monitoring: Track and verify employee expenses, ensuring alignment with company policies and budgets.
  • Payroll Administration: Assist in payroll processing, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in employee compensation.
  • Financial Reporting: Support the finance team in preparing financial reports and analyses to assist in decision-making.
  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the finance department, including data entry, filing, and maintaining organised financial records.
  • Interdepartmental Communication: Collaborate effectively with other departments to address financial inquiries and ensure smooth operations.

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Education: A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Previous experience in finance and accounting roles, particularly in accounts payable/receivable and payroll management.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining accuracy in all financial tasks.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for professional interactions with stakeholders.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities for interpreting financial data effectively.
  • Organisational Skills: Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workloads in a fast-paced environment.
  • Team-Oriented: A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively within a team.
