Position: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Lancaster
Start Date: September
Pay Rate: £15-17/ hour

We are looking for an empathetic, patient and flexible SEN Teaching Assistant who can understand and provide support for pupils facing different challenges with SEN, who can join a school in Lancaster in September.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to pupil's with SEN, implementing personalised learning plans tailored to their needs.
  • Assist classroom teachers in adapting lesson plans and materials to meet the diverse needs of pupils with SEN.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment where all pupils feel valued and respected.
  • Monitor pupil's progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents, collaborating closely with the SEN CO.
  • Use positive behaviour management strategies to promote social skills and independence in pupils with SEN.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and professionals to ensure pupils receive the appropriate support and interventions.

  • Empathetic and patient, with a genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of others.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with pupils , colleagues, and parents.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and willing to learn new strategies and approaches to meet the changing needs of pupils.

Requirements:

  • An Enhanced Child DBS or willingness to undertake one (we can help with this)
  • Good knowledge of the UK national curriculum.
  • Excellent planning and organisation skills.
