We are seeking a strong leader for a pivotal Production Manager role at a market-leading company in the material handling equipment industry. Due to ongoing expansion and increased workload, we are looking for someone with the leadership ability to unite and motivate a team, driving performance and efficiency. You will have around 12 direct reports and report directly to the Managing Director, with the opportunity to introduce your own ideas and grow within the company.

In this role, strong leadership skills are essential as you will be responsible for guiding the team, ensuring production targets are met, and continuously improving workflow. Your technical knowledge in welding, hydraulics, fitting, boring, and milling will be crucial in troubleshooting issues on the floor and optimising production processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Organise and monitor production workflow
  • Delegate tasks to meet production deadlines
  • Maximise efficiency and ensure delivery requirements are met
  • Monitor performance and report directly to the Managing Director
  • Recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs, particularly regarding product design and component selection
  • Address production problems as they arise
  • Manage appraisals, employee discipline, and training
  • Foster strong interdepartmental relationships
  • Ensure a safe working environment and adherence to safety practices

Required Skills:

  • Strong leadership with the ability to engage and motivate a team
  • Solid technical knowledge of fabrication, welding, boring, milling, surface preparation, hydraulic mechanical assembly, and electronic control of hydraulic and mechanical systems
  • Proven experience as a Production Manager
