PLEASE NOTE DUE TO POLICE VETTING CRITERIA YOU MUST HAVE RESIDED WITHIN THE UK CONTINUOUSLY FOR AT LEAST 5 YEARS AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing and managing commercial category strategies to achieve the strategic aims and objectives of the Forces served. Your main duties will include negotiating and influencing senior collective forums, delivering procurement savings plans, leading complex procurement projects, and managing contract reviews. You will also be expected to develop and manage sustainable procurement strategies and provide excellent customer service to all parties involved.
To be successful in this position, you should have relevant experience managing high-value category management and delivering quantifiable procurement efficiencies. Experience in mentoring or managing staff is also essential. Additionally, you must hold a Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply Diploma with full corporate membership (MCIPS) and have excellent interpretation of procurement legislation.
Understanding the police force's operational needs for specific categories and experience in leading and managing procurement projects of significant complexity and value would be desirable.
