Assistant Accountant

We are seeking an ambitious Assistant Accountant who is currently pursuing their accounting qualifications. This role offers a fantastic opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a supportive environment while continuing your professional development.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Assisting with the preparation of financial statements and reports.
- Supporting the month-end and year-end close process.
- Conducting bank reconciliations and processing journal entries.
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records and documentation.
- Collaborating with the wider finance team to improve financial processes and controls.
- Assisting with budget preparation and financial forecasting.
- Assisting with VAT returns.
- Engaging in continuous knowledge development regarding the business sector's rules, regulations, best practices, tools, techniques and performance standards.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Currently studying towards ACCA, CIMA, AAT or equivalent accounting qualifications.
- Previous experience in an accounting role is essential.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel as well as a recognised finance system like Sage.
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently.
