Automated Document Services is a specialist in the digitisation and production of digital archive copies for the cultural heritage sector. Automated Document Services also supply data capture and document scanning services for the wider market. Their range of services cover all aspects of the digitisation process including consultancy for all sizes of projects, project management, on-site or off-site production, specialist handling of fragile material, packing and transportation.

Due to continued growth the organisation are looking for a Digital Imaging Apprentice to join the team in Livingston. The successful candidate will be working towards an SCQF Level 6 Diploma.

Responsibilities:

  • Capturing manifests and lists of imaged content using MS Excel spreadsheets
  • Acting as a first responder to internal stakeholders for all upcoming project and content plans
  • Utilising Microsoft Word and Outlook email, as well as the intranet, on a daily basis
  • Collaborating with other business units to write programmes that run commands to automate processes
  • Delivering images to customers using various platforms including SharePoint, Amazon Web Services, SFTP, web portals, and WeTransfer
  • Converting historical documents into digital formats to ensure they are future-proof and accessible to a global audience
  • Digitising various types of content, from postage stamps to large maps, paintings, bound books, paper forms and reports, film, 35mm slides, audio-visual materials, aperture cards, and microfiche
  • Using different types of equipment depending on the content, including production scanners, book scanners for old and fragile bound documents, and specialized cameras for specific types of capture

Salary:

£16,830 salary

Working hours:

Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm
