Looking for a creative Design teacher for KS3 and KS4

We're excited to welcome a creative and dedicated teacher to our team in Wigan. You'll be responsible for teaching Design to KS3 and KS4 students, inspiring their artistic talents and guiding their development. This role offers a daily pay rate between £155 and £230, reflecting your experience, qualifications, and teaching expertise.

In this role, you will create an inspiring classroom environment where students feel encouraged to express their unique ideas and experiment with modern design tools. Additionally, you will assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and support their creative growth, all while collaborating with colleagues to enhance the overall design curriculum.

Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to subject development by producing, reviewing and updating curriculum plans and schemes of work
  • Strong knowledge of the curriculum
  • Punctual and reliable
  • Teach classes allocated and provide a well planned challenging, purposeful learning environment
  • Develop approach to self - directed learning, use technology to support learning
  • Use assessment data to inform lesson planning
  • Set homework and mark promptly
  • Ensure a high quality of teaching and learning takes place
  • Deal with immediate problems/emergencies according to school policy and procedures
  • Respond to questioning

  • Managing behaviour of pupils whilst undertaking work to ensure a constructive environment
  • Strong classroom management
  • Motivated and enthusiastic demeanour
  • Be an inspiring and engaging communicator
  • Use imagination and innovation to enhance learning experience

Personal attributes:

  • You will have a genuine passion for teaching
  • Experience up to key stage 3/4
  • QTS/PGCE equivalent
  • Be flexible and committed
