Assistant Joint Venture Accountant

Seeking an Assistant Joint Venture Accountant to join a dynamic finance team for a 12-month fixed-term contract. This role will support a recent Joint Venture and involve collaborating with the Business Integration Project Manager to refine pricing and operational Excel models, coordinate payment schedules with third parties, assist in creating management reports, and contribute to the implementation of new systems and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Financial Accounting Team in the accurate and timely production of financial statements for integrated companies.
  • Ensure adherence to appropriate accounting processes, procedures, and controls.
  • Provide information for raising invoices and ensure timely payments according to lease contracts.
  • Manage cash receipts and record transactions in E-Moneyger.
  • Regularly update lease rental calculations as per lease contracts.
  • Assist in ensuring correct and timely accounting of VAT.
  • Support the team in managing debt and swaps accounting and disclosure requirements.
  • Create management accounts reporting and provide explanations for variances.
  • Prepare ad hoc reports to comply with covenant and lender requirements.
  • Encourage decision making that improves processes and efficiency.
  • Contribute to the evolution of the group-wide system (Oracle) and ensure smooth operation of management information flows.
  • Coordinate payment schedules with Train Manufacturers, Bond Providers, and Technical Advisors.
  • Undertake any other reasonable tasks or duties as required.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Previous experience in a similar accounting role.
  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and processes.
  • Proficiency in Excel and experience with financial modeling.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience with Oracle or similar enterprise systems is a plus.
