Mechanical Design Engineer job itself where you will be responsible for all aspects of mechanical design work and take part in the development and improvement of R&D.
This includes planning and conducting projects to defined milestones and cost targets, acquiring a comprehensive understanding of customer needs via ongoing communication, and developing cost-effective design solutions to the customer's technical and commercial requirements. More specifically:
- Undertaking theoretical analysis and mathematical modelling in support of concept development and design verification
- Expertise in engineering materials and manufacturing processes, and turning novel ideas into production solutions
- Dealing with complex machined parts
- Developing and building prototypes to test their function
- Devising, implementing, and documenting appropriate experiments and tests
- Engineering change management
- Writing detailed technical documentation
- Sourcing components and liaising with suppliers
- Project management
In this role you will ensure that attention to detail, rectification of design error, and cost control, are at the centre of your design work.
You will have
To be successful as Mechanical Design Engineer, you will have a healthy mix of the following:
- BA degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering
- Strong problem-solving and maths skills, with an analytical and proactive approach
- Proficiency in common design software, such as SolidWorks and AutoCAD
- 3+ years in engineering design environment, ideally with proven experience in electro-mechanical design
- Project Management skills
- Ability to work independently and collaborate in a team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively, with a strong verbal & written English
