Community Fundraising Officer Part-time - 30 hours per week

Merrifield Consultants are delighted to be partnering with the charity Young Epilepsy to find a Community Fundraising Officer. The role will be based at St Pier's, an independent special school for children and young adults aged 4 to 25 years, with complex needs and disabilities. The Community Fundraising Officer will be responsible for raising voluntary funds from the local community to enhance the education and social provision for the students at St Piers.

Job Title: Community Fundraising Officer (Part-time - 30 hours per week)

Reporting to: Head of Philanthropy and Partnerships

Salary: £30,000 pro-rata

Location: Lingfield, Surrey RH7 6PW (Hybrid working options available)

St Pier's school is an innovative and creative environment for children and young people with epilepsy, autism, severe learning difficulties, speech, language and communication needs, and sensory and/or physical needs. The post-holder will be raising funds to go towards equipment, technology and facilities for students, as well as extra-curricular activities, sports, running a small Farm and providing outdoor learning opportunities. The role will build fundraising and volunteering partnerships with the local community, providing sustainable funding for St Piers and the wider campus, in the coming years.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven success of charity fundraising with companies and community organisations
  • Experience of working in a target-driven environment.
  • Experience working with volunteers
  • Experience of successfully delivering against financial targets within specified deadlines
  • A confident communicator who can build rapport and maintain positive professional relationships with funders, partners and community groups
  • Strong digital skills (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint etc)
  • Knowledge of fundraising/CRM databases

Currently St Piers is Surrey's best kept secret. This role will be instrumental in putting St Piers firmly on the map and winning local and regional support.
