To support our progress, we are currently recruiting for a Head of People & Group Development - Futures & Functions to come and join our team at our Leicester Head Office Team
Job Purpose:
Reporting to the Group Culture, Sustainability & Social Impact Director, this is a key leadership role within the Ibstock People function and part of the People Leadership Team. Partnering with the Managing Director of the Futures Division and Heads of Group Functions, the role will serve as a partner to the leadership teams, helping them to develop and execute people plans that help to achieve key business priorities. The role focuses on creating an effective and high performance culture with Ibstock's values at its heart. A key focus will be supporting the Futures Division in building the leadership, organisation, skills and capabilities to deliver on key performance requirements across sales, commercial, technical and operational departments.

The role will lead the development and execution of the organisation's learning, development, and talent growth initiatives and will lead on Wellbeing, ED&I and Early Careers across the Ibstock Group. This role is pivotal in shaping a learning culture, ensuring employees have the tools, knowledge, and skills to succeed, grow, and contribute to the company's long-term success. Responsible for developing innovative learning programmes, managing Talent and Leadership development, and aligning development activities with organisational goals.

Key Accountabilities

  • Business Partnering: Partners the Managing Director of Futures and Heads of Group Functions, developing people plans to help achieve key goals & priorities. Coaches leaders to foster a culture that promotes collaboration, innovation, diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Organisation & People Effectiveness. Works with senior leaders to ensure the organisation is designed to deliver short, medium and long-term goals, including all aspects of the organisation performance model and high performance work systems. Ensures responsibilities and accountabilities are clear, supporting teams to work effectively.
  • Leadership & Team Development. Coaches senior leaders to create a positive culture through effective engagement and personal growth. Identifies appropriate strategies to develop effective leadership teams.
  • Talent and Succession Planning. Coaches and supports leadership teams to identify and develop high potential employees, ensuring appropriate development strategies are in place. Ensure robust succession strategies and plans are in place to create diverse and effective teams.
  • Performance & Reward. Coaches senior leaders to ensure clear goals & objectives are set, regular reviews take place and that effective development plans are set. Aligns key reward activities to drive individual & team performance.
  • Talent & Succession: Ensures an effective People & Organisation Review process is in place across the organisation to ensure effective Talent identification, development and succession planning. Includes management of key Talent Development programmes (Sparks)
  • Learning & Development: Develops and implement a comprehensive L&D approach that aligns with the company's overall business objectives. Champions a learning culture within the company, promoting continuous professional development and knowledge-sharing. Responsible for the design and delivery of leadership development programmes aimed at cultivating future leaders and enhancing managerial skills.
  • Early Careers: Responsible for ensuring effective design, launch, and management of early careers programmes, including apprenticeships, internships, and entry-level roles. Building relationships with educational institutions, career fairs, and industry events to attract high-potential early career talent.
  • Wellbeing & ED&I – Fosters a culture of wellbeing that prioritises both mental and physical health, whilst promoting diversity and inclusion to ensure every individual feels valued and empowered to be their authentic selves.
