Accounts Payable Assistant

My client is looking for an accounts payable clerk on a temporary ongoing basis to start asap.

Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Clerk to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and processing invoices, ensuring timely payments, and maintaining accurate financial records.

This role is being offered with a very flexible working arrangement- initially office based for training then hybrid with roughly one day every three weeks in the office, the rest working from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process and verify invoices for accuracy and completeness.
  • Match invoices with purchase orders and receipts.
  • Enter and code invoices into the accounting system.
  • Prepare and process electronic transfers and payments.
  • Reconcile accounts payable transactions.
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date.
  • Resolve invoice discrepancies and issues.
  • Maintain vendor files and records.
  • Assist with month-end closing activities.
  • Provide support for audits and other financial reporting requirements.

Ideal candidate will have:

  • Proven experience in accounts payable or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, especially Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
