Independent Forgings and Alloys (IFA) have an exciting opportunity to join us as our Forging Technician.

Responsibilities

Joining us as a Forging Technician, you will work with production, quality, environmental and health and safety systems for open die forgings unit. You will...

  • Record and monitor Aerospace/Nuclear forging production covering metal soak times and temperatures.
  • Ensure information and systems development meet NADCAP quality requirements within the day-to-day forge environment.
  • Monitor day-to-day activities of production units (in particular route card instructions and customer requirements).
  • Complete daily production checks of forgings furnaces and monitor furnace survey schedule.
  • Liaise with the forge crew, the forge office and customers on the forge shop floor.

Who are we looking for?

A team player with strong attention to detail and excellent organisational skills, we would like our Forging Technician to be decisive with a positive and practical approach. Some knowledge of metallurgy and material processing and forgings is key for this role, and we would particularly like to hear from those who have an understanding of mechanical testing and national, international and customer specifications.

A FLT and OH crane slinging licence would be beneficial however training will be provided.
