The Merchandise Planner will support the GSDM to help provide functional and full administrative support and make sure stakeholders are updated on plans. The Merchandise planner role interacts regularly with Sales & Marketing teams to input into plans and solicit information to help supply planning.

Client Details

A great opportunity for a Merchandise Planner to join a leading business in the Bedfordshire area. They have been trading for over 30 years across a number of different product categories including, arts & crafts, toys and play.

Description

  • Assist the Supply and Demand Manager in Maintaining accurate MRP and forecasts by analysing sales data and holding regular forecast reviews with NAMs within a clearly defined monthly process for both new and continuity products.
  • Regularly review in market sales performance vs forecast vs inventory and continually adapt purchase plans to avoid un-productive overstocks or poor availability through out of stocks across all markets (UK, France and USA)
  • Be a contributor of technical and supply input into the new product development process to ensure appropriate logistical / operational specifications for local markets are met.
  • Manage relationships with UK / EU suppliers and support the Brand Manager team on range selection.
  • Oversee the customs clearing process by ensuring accurate duty rates and administration for timely clearance.
  • Manage the shipping process from PO generation, tracking and shipping - keeping the business and SAP systems updated on expected receipt and booking dates.

Profile

  • Highly proficient in all Microsoft packages, with a good understanding of Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent knowledge of planning tools and a good working knowledge of MRPs and SAP.
  • A problem solver who analyses facts to objectively evaluate options.
  • A can-do attitude and the adaptability to manage a fluid list of priorities with integrity and collaboration with others.
  • High levels of personal organisation showing high level attention to detail and ability to drive results from others.
  • Effective written & verbal communication; able to express points of view in a clear, concise & structured manner.
