  • Temporary rates: £350per day umbrella for temp

A prominent and large social housing provider is seeking an experienced Senior Governance and Compliance Manager to join their team on either a permanent or temp to permanent basis. This role is ideal for a governance professional who is a full member or part-qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Governance. Experience within social housing or a similar regulated sector is highly advantageous. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the Group's compliance with its legal and regulatory obligations and providing professional governance services.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Deputise for the Head of Governance and Compliance when required.
  • Support the provision of robust corporate governance, compliance, and legal assurance services.
  • Ensure compliance with the Group's legal obligations around Companies House and FCA reporting.
  • Line manage the Company Secretarial Assistant, including training and development.
  • Offer governance and compliance advice to the board, executive, and colleagues.
  • Service the Audit & Risk Committee and manage the internal audit programme.
  • Service other Board Committees, including the Treasury Committee, Evolution (SPV), and the organisations Foundation.
  • Maintain strategic and operational risk registers and draft reports for the ARC and Board.
  • Draft, review, and update corporate and governance policies and procedures.
  • Oversee compliance with legal and regulatory obligations and ensure compliance reporting deadlines are met.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree-level education and Chartered Institute of Governance or legal qualification.
  • Substantial experience in governance and compliance within a large, regulated sector organisation, preferably social housing.
  • Proven track record of servicing Board or Committee meetings and taking accurate minutes.
  • Excellent IT skills, proficient with standard office IT packages and electronic portals.
  • Strong management and leadership capabilities.
  • Commitment to delivering service to a very high standard.
