Nottingham– Senior HR Consultant

Location – NG2 3NG (Hybrid)

£22.51ph – On going contract – 37 hours a week

  • To provide expertise and support with recruitment and talent acquisition activities within directorates and across the council, including all elements of strategic resourcing, employability initiatives and retention and reward strategies. To proactively work to attract, source and recruit to a range of executive and hard to fill roles using a range of different and innovative approaches and tools to attract and recruit appropriate candidates. To support and deliver on a range of corporate talent acquisition and resourcing activity as described below. Role is hybrid, 37 hours a week
  • Identify, recommend, implement and evaluate a range of sustainable solutions to resolve organisational problems in respect of recruitment and talent acquisition. Lead on the design and delivery of projects/programmes associated with the above.
  • Support the design of and manage value for money executive level resourcing activities which are business focused and of high quality, attracting the widest and most appropriate (in terms of talent) potential pool of applicants.
  • Work proactively to attract, source and recruit to a range of executive and hard to fill roles using a range of different and innovative approaches and tools to attract, source and recruit appropriate candidates.
  • Develop strong working relationships with, and understanding of, the business, ensuring the provision of specialist advice, guidance and support to managers and other key stakeholders on recruitment and talent acquisition approaches, including the use of innovative approaches to proactively source and engage high quality candidates from diverse talent pools.
  • Evaluate current approaches, interventions and theories and share and embed talent acquisition approaches and good practice across the organisation.
  • Seek candidate feedback at different stages of the employee lifecycle (eg, recruitment induction, exit) and use this to inform approaches and improve processes and candidate experience. Act as a brand ambassador for NCC and champion for candidate care.
  • Build relationships with external stakeholders to build talent pipelines, eg colleges and universities, actively seeking representation from under-represented groups or individuals.
  • Actively lead on opportunities to promote the Council as an employer of choice, identifying and exploiting social media channels and other opportunities, eg careers events, to do this. In conjunction with the programme lead, contribute to the development and implementation of the Council's corporate branding and employer value proposition(s).
  • Collaborate with Departmental HR Consultants and Advisors to integrate an approach to resourcing, including workforce planning, succession planning and talent management
  • Develop and maintain effective systems to monitor programmes and report on the relevant data and statistics to senior management as required. Work alongside people managers to provide information and data analysis to support effective decision-making and drive continuous improvement in respect of recruitment and retention.
  • Provide feedback and reports to key stakeholders, making recommendations as appropriate.
  • In conjunction with the Recruitment Subject Matter Expert (SME) lead on the development and implementation of recruitment policy, process and practice in line with current legislation, local, and national policy developments and, modern HR procedures and best practice.
  • Manage workloads and performance of identified staff with the team, including their induction, supervision, Performance Appraisals, and absence, in accordance with the People Management Handbook. Deputise for the Programme Manager when required
