JOB TITLE: Tooling and Sustaining Engineer
LOCATION: Melksham
SALARY: £40,000 - £45,000
THE BUSINESS:
C4S Search are pleased to be partnering with a specialist in the engineering and manufacturing of respiratory protection equipment for military, law enforcement and fire personnel.
THE TOOLING AND SUSTAINING ENGINEER OPPORTUNITY:
- Tooling Support & Design: Manage tooling maintenance, repairs, replacements, and design improvements while ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
- Process Optimization & Verification: Use Six Sigma principles to enhance process efficiencies, verify capabilities, and manage capex investments.
- Training & Collaboration: Facilitate training for new processes and equipment, while working closely with Maintenance to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Engineering & Change Management: Oversee engineering evaluations, support change requests, and maintain clear specifications for new tooling.
- Cost Control & Communication: Focus on cost efficiency, meeting customer requirements, and maintaining strong communication with internal and external stakeholders.
YOUR KEY SKILLS:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate at all levels of the organization.
- Technical expertise in polymers and manufacturing processes.
- Proven experience in analytical tool design with a track record of successful implementation.
- Practical, hands-on skills paired with an organized, self-motivated approach to work.
- Proficiency in at least one 3D CAD software.
- 3D CAD experience using SolidWorks.
- Familiarity with CAE and FEA techniques.
- Experience in prototyping and testing.
