Mechanical Design Engineer

  • Salary: £38-£41K
  • Work arrangements: 2 or 3 days on site so pretty flexible

Day to Day of the role:

  • Collaborate with the Engineering Team to produce and update 3D CAD models and 2D technical drawings.
  • Support build and test activities, including hands-on tasks where appropriate.
  • Participate in product development activities, problem resolution, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Interface with in-house colleagues, suppliers, and customers to communicate engineering concepts and designs.
  • Deliver work packages to a defined standard, budget, and timescale, managing internal/external resources if necessary.
  • Engage in customer visits, technical meetings, and cross-functional collaboration with Operations, Projects, Procurement, and Quality teams.
  • Ensure adherence to Engineering policies, safety standards, and testing processes.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in mechanical or related engineering discipline, or equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Strong command of mechanical engineering fundamentals.
  • Proficiency in engineering computer-aided design and analysis tools, configuration management systems, and ERP tools.
  • Experience with SolidWorks or similar 3D CAD modelling package is desirable.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, high-pressure oil and gas sealing technologies, and PDM software is advantageous.
  • Ability to communicate effectively through written and verbal methods.
  • Willingness to travel worldwide to support business activities.
  • Eligibility to obtain UK SC clearance.
