As the Programme Manager, you will facilitate alignment across all areas of the business to ensure each infrastructure project and programme is delivered on time and on-cost, managing programmes from initial survey through to install and beyond.

You will oversee both unfunded programmes, ensuring clients receive appropriate and timely quotes before managing the install activity undertaken by sub-contractors, and funded programmes, collating the relevant information and data, presenting this to the internal investment committee and managing any approved projects.

This role offers an opportunity to actively contribute to business strategy, working closely with our senior leadership team and investment committee to grow the business, whilst also playing a hands-on role, often working on site alongside clients and technical colleagues. The successful candidate will have access to a range of employee benefits, including an electric company car.

Role responsibilities:

  • Responsible for end-to-end programme delivery, from surveys and specifications, through to programme development, install and delivery, ensuring projects and programmes are completed on time, on cost and to specification.
  • Manage dependencies and risks, responding and resolving issues as they arise to ensure successful delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Schedule and monitor your team to undertake surveys and grid connection activity, coordinating your team resources and balancing competing demands.
  • Develop, embed and continuously encourage processes and standards that focus on quality, prioritisation and successful delivery, and support the achievement of business objectives.
  • Develop and use internal reporting systems and tools to enable seamless communication with teams across the business, timely quotations and well-informed investment decisions.
  • Build and nurture effective, trusted working relationships with clients, attending sites and meetings as necessary.
  • Develop relationships with external hardware partners, distributors and regulatory bodies.
  • Act as a key contact for both external stakeholders, providing updates on programme delivery and resolving any queries or concerns as needed, and internal stakeholders, ensuring the business is aware of programme status, risks, issues or milestones requiring attention.
  • Capture observations and feedback from projects and programmes, identify possible opportunities for sales colleagues and present recommendations to senior leadership for future improvements and enhancements.
  • Develop and embed effective project management processes to support consistency and efficiency, and champion continuous process improvement.
  • Maintain knowledge of relevant regulations, standards, and incentives related to EV charging infrastructure.
  • Work closely with external agencies to obtain grants, necessary permits, approvals, and incentives for EV projects, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
  • Line manage, mentor and coach team members, helping to develop their skills, knowledge, and capabilities in EV project management and related areas.

Experience/qualifications required:

  • Qualified Electrician, NVQ Level 3 Electrotechnical qualification or similar.
  • Experience working at a senior level, actively contributing to business strategy.
  • Strong understanding of EV technology, infrastructure, DNOs and relevant regulations and standards.
  • Proven experience in project management/programme delivery, preferably in the EV sector or similar infrastructure delivery.
  • Experience of quoting work and presenting information to customers.
  • Demonstrable experience of leading high performing, project-focused teams.
  • Excellent communicator, able to communicate with non-technical colleagues and clients, and also present to the senior leadership team.
  • Credible with both clients, technical colleagues, senior leadership and external agencies, able to build professional and valuable long-term working relationships.
  • Able to work collaboratively across multi-disciplinary teams, acting as a facilitator of communication go-to contact for colleagues and external agencies.
  • Unwavering attention to detail and organisation skills, able to manage competing timelines and balance workloads and resources.
  • UK driving licence, willing and able to travel.

This role is also subject to a satisfactory DBS check.
