Teaching Assistant
Position: Teaching Assistant (Full-Time)
Location: Barking
Start Date: September 2024
Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young learners? Do you have experience supporting children with special educational needs? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant primary school in Barking, to provide one-on-one support to a pre-verbal Year 1 child.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualised support to a non-verbal Year 1 child, enhancing their learning experience and overall development.
- Collaborate with the class teacher to implement tailored educational plans.
- Use alternative communication methods and tools to assist the child in expressing their needs and engaging with peers.
- Foster a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
- Monitor and record the child's progress, sharing insights and updates with teachers and parents.
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with non-verbal children or children with special educational needs.
- Previous experience using PECs or Flashcards.
- Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
- Flexibility and adaptability to meet the child's changing needs.
- Relevant qualifications in education or childcare are desirable but not essential.
