Product Management Director

We're seeking a Product Management Director who can ensure we maximise the amount of students successfully participating and succeeding in international education. This role will be pivotal in ensuring that we successfully identify, communicate and deliver the right products in the right categories to succeed.

Working closely with colleagues in partnership, student recruitment, academic and other teams, the Product Management Director will have full P&L responsibility for our existing product lines - using every means possible to ensure they respond to changing student and university needs. This is an exciting opportunity to provide really innovative solutions that break down the barriers to participation in higher education and to change lives for the better.
ABOUT THE ROLE

  • Challenge conventions to ensure our products and services are category-leading.
  • Own a virtual P&L for each product category, and maximise the short and long-term value of the portfolio.
  • Explore new program formats, delivery methods, and learning experiences based on a deep understanding of learner and university needs..
  • Collaborate with experts to create innovative ways for students to meet their desired objectives..
  • Ensure we can explain the value of our products and services clearly and succinctly for all audiences: students, parents, agents, and university/delivery partners (and our own teams!).
  • Collaborate with our marketing teams to ensure marketing plans are aligned with the proposition, and deliver results.
  • Cultivate an innovation pipeline for innovation for existing products, and create transparency around prioritisation and idea triage.
  • Analyse market trends, student needs, and emerging technologies.
  • Propose bold ideas for curriculum enhancements and program expansion based on data and insight.
  • Foster a culture of experimentation and continuous improvement.
  • Ensure we think holistically about product success, using every lever available to make sure we are successful
  • Ensure that our offerings combine the right pricing, entry requirements, features, and other characteristics to succeed
  • Optimise the portfolio to win in the competitive education market.
  • Balance short-term revenue goals with long-term sustainability.
  • Foster a mutual understanding of student and university pain points, and identify opportunities where both parties can win.
  • Lead cross-functional teams, inspiring them to think beyond boundaries.
  • Advocate for educational innovation at all levels of the organisation.
  • Champion Study Group's mission to transform lives through education.
  • Be a strong voice across all of our product categories, raising their profile and ensuring teams are aware and able to support upcoming changes and enhancements and maximise market impact.

ABOUT YOU

  • A strong background in product portfolio management, with a deep understanding of maximising value through product, pricing, positioning and other key drivers.
  • Strong experience with setting pricing, market positioning and value proposition creation
  • Ability to challenge assumptions, take calculated risks, and drive change.
  • Strategic mindset with a flair for creative problem-solving.
  • Strong communication skills to inspire and influence stakeholders.
  • A track record of working successfully in a matrix environment.
  • Experience with using a product management methodology and implementing it across an organization
  • Experience building and delivering digital (and, ideally, blended) programmes at scale
  • Credibility with stakeholders - both internally and externally (e.g. University Partners)
