Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-stage equipment and hardware with guidance from senior engineers.
- Install, terminate, and test copper and fiber optic cabling systems.
- Perform site surveys to assess and plan network cabling installations, including basic wireless surveys after additional training.
- Install and configure network hardware such as switches, routers, and wireless access points.
- Troubleshoot and resolve network connectivity issues related to cabling and hardware.
- Ensure all cabling installations comply with industry standards and safety regulations.
- Accurately document network cabling layouts, configurations, and installations.
- Collaborate with project managers and team members to ensure timely and efficient project completion.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment at client sites.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in network cabling technologies and industry best practices.
- Follow health and safety best practices at all times.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Field Engineer, Network Technician, or similar role with a focus on cabling.
- Strong knowledge of copper and fiber optic cabling systems and standards.
- Proficiency in using tools and equipment for cable installation and testing.
- Experience with network hardware installation and configuration.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and network diagrams.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid clean driver's license and reliable transportation.
