More than just engineering
We're not just looking for an engineer; we're looking for someone who cares deeply about the product as a whole. Your role won't be limited to writing code; you'll also play a key part in shaping the future of our platform. Working alongside a cross-functional team, you'll contribute to both the aesthetic and functional aspects of Travelnest, ensuring a seamless and delightful experience for our users.
Who you are
Essential
- Demonstrable programming experience in highly autonomous, cross-functional teams
- Customer-centricity; you want to solve real problems for real people
- Strong communication skills and an appetite to collaborate across the business
- Pragmatism, favouring narrow scope and frequent iteration
Desirable
- Experience creating native iOS and Android applications
- Experience with spinning up and maintaining infrastructure in AWS (we use Terraform)
- Experience in the travel/vacation rentals industry
- Experience working in agile development teams
- Knowledge of our tech stack (we're looking for capable people, not specific technologies!)
What you'll do
Software engineers at Travelnest work in cross-functional teams and write reliable, maintainable and well-tested code to produce top quality user features and robust API integrations. We've recently launched our brand new mobile app, so experience with native technologies would be beneficial.
Our tech stack roughly consists of:
- React Native (Typescript), Expo
- React (Typescript), Next.js, Vercel
- Node.js (Typescript) & Python
- jest, pytest, Cucumber
- PostgreSQL
- AWS - ECS, Lambda, SNS, SQS, RDS, Glue, Athena
Your typical week at work could include:
- Working with designers to build out user-facing features
- Building, maintaining and improving integrations with our third-party partners
- Contributing to the design of our highly asynchronous architecture
- Identifying and paying down tech debt
