About the role

The Portfolio Analyst provides support to projects across the full Data Platform portfolio, to ensure projects adhere to the defined processes and comply with IT2A project lifecycle and governance processes and that clear accurate project information is always available to support reporting.

  • Support IT2A project lifecycle and governance application across all platform projects.
  • Ensure correct project setup in the PPM tool (Keyed In) and maintain project information as per PMO standards, including monthly heartbeat and financial period locks.
  • Manage governance, reporting, and consistency issues, taking ownership for resolving problems to enable smooth project delivery.
  • Ensure projects follow IT2A delivery methodology and processes, identifying issues and opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Support project attendance at governance bodies (e.g., PAB), assist Project Managers in preparing, validating, and presenting submissions efficiently.
  • Ensure compliance with IT2A governance framework, including approvals and KPIs.
  • Promote and support project health checks and conduct or support project quality reviews.
  • Assist with the development and improvement of the project lifecycle and processes.
  • Support delivery teams in obtaining financial approvals (IO requests) on time, working with IT Finance.
  • Assist Project Managers in understanding and applying financial and governance processes, helping them forecast accurately and track budgets, actuals, and invoices.
  • Assist Planning & Governance/Delivery Manager in producing reports for platform use, cross-platform review forums, PMO, and leadership.
  • Support supply and demand processes, ensuring resource needs are forecasted.
  • Manage onboarding of new resources and induction on project methodology/frameworks and processes.
  • Review resource utilization, ensuring accurate timesheet completion, and investigate and resolve utilization target issues.
  • Develop and deliver training for Project Management community/delivery teams with PMO.
  • Communicate PMO updates to ensure platform teams are aware of changes or new processes.

What you'll need to have

  • Graduate or equivalent calibre
  • Experience of a central PMO role
  • Good knowledge of project lifecycles and governance
  • Experience of an IT environment and developing or using IT systems and processes
  • Experience of project delivery
  • Experience of managing finances in a spreadsheet or ideally a project tracking tool
  • Expert PowerPoint skills
  • Expert Excel skills

It would be great if you also have

  • Experience of a retail organisation
  • Prince2 qualification - Foundation
  • Agile Scrum Master qualification
