This is a fabulous opportunity for an enthusiastic individual who is looking to play an integral part in a thriving, dynamic Sales and Marketing team. The organisation is seeking to find a confident candidate with a proven track record in Arts marketing, in particular campaign management and digital practice, to join us as Head of Marketing & Digital.

The successful candidate will have to demonstrate integrity and superb motivational leadership with knowledge across all of the traditional marketing mix with particular emphasis relating to digital, including SEO, Google Analytics, all paid-for platforms, and social media.

Job Purpose

The purpose of this Head of Marketing & Digital role is to confidently lead the Marketing Team in delivering the organisation's marketing function, with a key focus on how digital can assist in the development of campaigns, drive sales and increase audience engagement.

Key Task Areas

  • General Management - Contribute to the management of Royal & Derngate, ensuring delivery of the Trust's Business Plan objectives assisting with the development of the venue's audience strategy in line with the organisation's aims and brand.
  • Financial Management - Effective management and control of marketing resources and budgets.
  • Staff Management/Deployment - Lead and manage the marketing team by establishing excellent ongoing working relationships with the team via recruitment, training, and communication.
  • Digital & Delivery - Deliver professional marketing services demanded of a major producing and presenting venue. Ensure a high quality and efficient delivery of all day-to-day marketing activities, including but not limited to liaison with producers and promoters, audience development initiatives, copywriting, show concept and design, print, distribution, advertising, direct mail, website optimisation, e-mail and social network communication, and any theatre promotional activities.

Essential Skills

Experience

  • Significant marketing experience in an arts environment
  • Planning, managing, and controlling budgets
  • A proven track record in digital strategy for a multi-arts venue
  • Experience using Box Office systems as a marketing tool
  • Experience in devising mixed media marketing campaigns
  • Experience in staff management
  • Experience in producing and managing print

Knowledge

  • An understanding of digital marketing opportunities
  • An understanding of and commitment to live theatre and entertainment
  • An understanding of market research techniques
