We are looking for an experienced Family Legal Secretary to provide full administrative and secretarial support to the Family Law team, including legal advisors and Partners.

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Providing full support to legal advisors and the wider team, managing client queries and preparing legal documentation through copy typing or audio/digital dictation.
  • Building relationships with clients and third parties, such as barristers' clerks, via written correspondence and over the phone.
  • Managing diaries for allocated legal advisors, arranging meetings, booking meeting rooms, and preparing documents in advance.
  • Ensuring all electronic files are kept up-to-date, managing file administration, and opening, closing, and archiving files as required.
  • Assisting with the preparation and management of complex legal cases, including matters related to financial disputes, pre and post-nuptial agreements, domestic violence issues, and children matters.
  • Supporting the team with administrative tasks, such as attending team meetings and training sessions as needed.

GENERAL OBJECTIVES:

  • Compliance with the firm's administrative procedures and policies, ensuring attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Demonstrating high levels of discretion and confidentiality, essential for the sensitive nature of family law matters.
  • Managing multiple priorities in a high-performing team, balancing short-notice deadlines and various tasks effectively.
  • Working collaboratively with other support staff, ensuring workloads are managed across the team.
  • Actively participating in the firm's culture of continuous learning, attending training as needed to enhance skills and knowledge.
