Our client, a leading communications agency, is seeking an experienced Head of Client Services for an initial 9 month maternity cover, with the potential to move to a permanent role. They are highly regarded in the communications field, known for working with major global clients, delivering strategic campaigns, change initiatives, and creative content to help organisations reach their full potential by creating informed, engaged, and connected employees.

You'll manage a small, high-performing team who offer strategic consultancy to major global clients. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience managing large-scale communications projects for multi-national businesses, with a focus on delivering to diverse audiences across different sectors.

Key Responsibilities in this Head of Client Services role:

  • Managing and developing a Client Services team, including direct reports and overseeing work from external consultants
  • Ensuring that all clients receive an excellent service and exceeding expectations where possible
  • Leading the delivery of strategic communication campaigns, including scoping, planning, and overseeing the full project lifecycle
  • Leveraging existing client relationships to grow revenue, while maintaining high levels of client satisfaction
  • Acting as a key point of contact for resolving client issues quickly and efficiently
  • Collaborating with the wider team to ensure seamless delivery of services across departments
  • Supporting the business in staying up to date with industry trends, providing clients with leading solutions
  • Creating and presenting reports, project plans, and strategic documents for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Financial reporting and forecasting, with a focus on budget management and the agency model
  • Contributing to business planning and leadership discussions, driving continuous improvement within the agency

Skills & Experience needed:

  • 10+ years' experience working with multi-national clients, ideally in a client-facing or consultancy role.
  • Proven agency experience with strong commercial acumen and the ability to drive revenue growth.
  • Ability to manage and motivate cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional work.
  • Experience in communications and engagement for diverse global audiences, ideally including matrix organisations.
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience influencing senior stakeholders at the C-suite level.
  • Strong leadership abilities, with a collaborative and respectful management style.
  • Willingness to travel for client meetings, particularly within London.
  • Strong project management and client service skills, with the ability to juggle multiple deadlines and commercial targets.
  • Comfortable in fast-paced environments, with flexibility and a solution-driven mindset.
  • Commercially astute with a creative flair, able to devise practical solutions to client challenges.
  • Experience building and maintaining long-standing relationships with global/international clients.
  • A logical, structured thinker with a passion for delivering exceptional client experiences.
  • Someone who can proactively contribute to sales and client attraction.
