We are looking for an ambitious and proactive Management Accountant to join a growing finance team.
This high-profile role involves delivering timely and accurate financial reporting and working with stakeholders across the business. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting the accounts team with the preparation of monthly management accounts, balance sheet reconciliations, and Group accounts consolidation.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Preparation of monthly management accounts for multiple operations.
- Collaborate with senior directors and department managers to finalise accounts, offering support and analysis.
- Conduct balance sheet validations, including control accounts and working capital controls.
- Manage monthly VAT checks and the preparation of quarterly submissions.
- Update and maintain weekly reports on sales, forecasts, and working capital for senior management.
- Ensure timely completion of monthly submissions to manufacturers.
- Proactively identify and address financial concerns, seeking solutions to rectify them.
- Implement and uphold strong financial controls.
- Maintain the integrity of the management system.
- Assist with the annual budgetary process and contribute to projects aimed at improving internal controls.
- Support bi-annual stock count and reconciliation processes.
- Conduct internal audits and assist with the preparation of year-end accounts.
- Provide financial support and resolve queries across the business.
- Flexibility to undertake a variety of accounting tasks as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- AAT Level 4 or currently studying towards ACCA or CIMA.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to align team activities towards common objectives.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, complex formulas, and data analysis.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Strong understanding of KPIs and the ability to analyse management accounts to identify improvement opportunities.
- Independent worker with the capacity to contribute to team goals.
